Please Farm Trial of the Champion

Trial of the ChampionI’ve been really busy gearing up my Priest the last few weeks and, friends, let me stress that if you aren’t running Regular Trial of the Champion several times a day you are missing out. This instance is far and away the simplest and fastest way to level your alts with more than respectable gear.

When I made the switch from my Hunter to my Priest I was rolling deep with Hateful PvP gear. I managed to heal a few Heroics with that Hateful gear but things were sketchy at best. Luckily, the awesome guild I joined was more than willing to run Regular ToC on a loop for me over the course of several days.

The Spoils Of Patch 3.2

The Spoils Of Patch 3.2Since the day Patch 3.2 was released I’ve been diving head first into running as many Heroics as I can fit into my schedule each day. The number of Emblems of Conquest I’ve managed to rack up since that day is right around 150. Not only was I hitting the older Heroics hard but I’ve also made daily trips into the Trial of Champions as well.

Anyway, since the patch I’ve managed to snag the following gear upgrades on my Hunter through Emblem purchases, lucky drops or cold hard cash:

Your Thoughts On The Isle Of Conquest

Isle Of ConquestIt’s been a few days since I wrote my initial impressions of Patch 3.2 and I wanted to discuss the new Battleground, the Isle of Conquest, some more. I personally think this is the best Battleground in the game now. It’s taking me a handful of games to get the hang of it but now that I understand the mechanics it is clearly my favorite Battleground of the five that are available. The Isle of Conquest feels like “Alterac Valley done right” to me.

The control over zones like the Hangar or Docks makes it feel like more of a slugfest than Alterac Valley’s tendency to be a boss rush. I’ve seen some Isle games that have taken forever as control over the various landmarks on the map went back-and-forth. I’ve also seen games where the Hangar was captured, everyone got on the airship and proceeded to parachute behind enemy lines and blow down their front door from the inside (see screenshot above). There’s some variety in the gameplay here that sets it apart, at least in my opinion, with the other Battlegrounds in the game.

The Emalon Wipe Fest Continues

Emalon the Storm WatcherI went on at least a six week hiatus from any attempts at running the Vault of Archavon because every time I joined a PUG to give it a shot the opening attempt at taking down Emalon was ugly. Actually, in the interest of honesty, calling it ugly doesn’t do it justice. It was like a brutal crime scene after each attempt with the bodies of his victims strewn all over the place.

I had hoped, all those weeks ago, that taking a break from the instance would allow other people on the server to gear up a bit and increase the likelihood for success. This Friday afternoon I decided it was time to try the Vault again and joined a PUG looking for a few more people to handle the DPS.
