Starting Your Own Bank Alt Guild

SchonhardtA lot of players who are very serious about their Auction House work require more storage space for materials and items than the standard bag system and personal bank can provide. When you’ve reach the point of bursting at the seams with gear and are out of places to store everything your best bet to alleviate the strain is to start your own guild. With your own guild you’ll have access to a guild bank that can offer you more storage space than you can possibly imagine.

Auction House Example: Eternal Belt Buckle

DaughertyI’ve been in the business of selling Eternal Belt Buckles, off and on, for awhile now. Over the course of the last few days, my server has seen an increased demand for them and I’ve had to put in some extra effort to meet that growing interest. I thought I’d take some time and write down my strategy and methods for taking advantage of this situation along with some general tips and tricks that can apply to other items to sell on the Auction House as well.

My Mission Is More Fishin’

FishingI’m taking another swing at the Fishing profession. I’ve always felt a sense of shame and embarrassment over the fact that, as long as I’ve been playing this game, my fishing skill has never been at the maximum level. I just could not bring myself to sit down for any serious length of time and work on it.

Well, it’s time to put my Mastercraft Kalu’ak Fishing Pole to use and get fishing up to 450. When I started this the other night my skill was under 365. After some fishing in the Barrens for Deviate Fish I hit 385 and made my way to Northrend. By the time I hung up my fishing pole this evening I was up to 392.

The Darkmoon Faire Auction House Feeding Frenzy

Darkmoon FaireThe Darkmoon Faire is going on right now in Elwynn Forest as some of you with deep pockets, or Inscription, are probably already aware of. The big concern with the Faire these days is obviously the trinkets you can get from completing the various decks of cards available in the game. For someone with the Inscription profession, building those cards and selling them on the Auction House is a main staple of your big money selling activity.

In the days leading up to the Faire and during the course of the event the pricing on cards for the Nobles Deck are pretty out of control. On my server the average card goes for around 1,000 gold while some of the cards can tip the scale at 1,500 to 2,000 gold each depending on demand.

How Much Gold Is Enough?

Gooooooold...A few weeks ago I crossed the 30,000 gold barrier between all of the characters on my account. In reality, the majority of that money was between my Hunter Nance and my bank alt Daugherty. They had 19,000 gold and 13,000 gold respectively. My total as of this morning was about 34,000 gold.

My question for you is: at what point do you have enough gold? I’ve said before I use gold counts as a kind of scoring system within the game and I’m to the point where that artificial score is the only practical reason for having this much virtual currency.

Selling Relics of Ulduar For Mad Money and Setting Market Prices

As of yesterday, the Relic of Ulduar is a quest item for a Sons of Hodir Reputation quest called Ancient Relics. That’s important because also, with the new patch yesterday, the Relics are no longer soulbound. So you know what that means, right?

Making Gold With Cooking Dailies

Horde Inn FeastI had ignored the Cooking profession for most of my WoW “career” until recently when I decided to try and power level high enough to get the Dalaran Cooking Dailies. I used the Cooking Guide at WoW-Professions.com again to make this go as quickly as possible. At the time I didn’t really know just how lucrative this plan of action was going to be.

As far as I see it, there are two ways to clean house with Cooking: making food to sell on the Auction House to raiders or selling some of the rare cooking materials on the Auction House to the Cooking folks themselves. I’ve chosen to go the route of material selling thanks to one particular item called Northern Spices.

Companion Pets, Achievements and the Auction House

Siamese Cat AuctionsWith the release of the Achievements system before Wrath, there were plenty of money making opportunities for those of us who enjoy the Auction House game. A lot of the achievements required certain items or loot to complete and nowhere was this more profitable than with the Shop Smart, Shop Pet…Smart achievement.

The market for pets on the Auction House was absolutely insane pre-Wrath and, on some servers, that still might be the case. For an engineer like myself, it was trivial with the right mats to build Mechanical Squirrels and Tranquil Mechanical Yetis all day.
