Warlock PvP Builds

Having an invincible Warlock PvP Build is really impossible considering the armor problems with wearing cloth. Then again, if you have your Toon with the proper specs you can overcome this most of the time. Today we’re going to give you a little help on your talent trees. Hopefully these combinations can help you when taking on other players.

Daily Quest Guide: Wintergrasp

Lake WintergraspUPDATE: As of Patch 3.1.2, all of these quests are now available once per week instead of once per day. You can read my take on this change if you’re interested.

There seems to be a growing interest in Wintergrasp and its dailies lately. Now that a few of them have had their annoying kinks worked out I thought it was time to put together a nice and concise guide for all of the dailies in the zone.

Achievement Guide: For The Horde!

For The Horde! The For The Horde! achievement, which is really the culmination of four separate achievements I’ll detail in a second, was one of those things I never thought I would be able to do in my WoW career. On my server, with a 2-to-1 Alliance to Horde ratio, I’ve seen countless failed attempts at this achievement and the quest for the awesome Black War Bear.

But on early Friday morning, when the server population was very low someone started a PUG and I decided to join. After a long wait we finally had 40 people and we were ready to give it our best shot. Here is the order we went in and our technique in each of the Alliance cities:

Fun Inside The Vault Of Archavon

Vault of Archavon DPS MetersIt’s probably pathetic to admit that the Vault of Archavon is my favorite Raid. I like it a lot for several reasons: it’s an easy Raid to join and get involved with, it’s directly tied to Wintergrasp which I enjoy a lot and it’s one of the few events where I seem to consistently top the DPS charts.

The Deeps

Video: Bleeding Bloodhoof

I always play on the Horde side of things but I’m posting a video of an Alliance achievement today. I was lucky enough to hop on my bank alt, Daugherty, in Thunder Bluff just as a giant swarm of dazed and confused Alliance players arrived to take their run at the Bleeding Bloodhoof achievement.

So sit back and enjoy the four and a half minute movie of Alliance players running in the wrong direction, heading too far up the giant totem pole and finally succeeding in another successful city raid on Greymane against zero Horde resistance.

Daily Quest Guide: Venture Bay

Venture BayIn the southwestern corner of the Grizzly Hills is a cool little harbor area called Venture Bay with a number of PvP-style daily quests. I recommend everyone tries these out, at least once, for the sole purpose of seeing another misfire by Blizzard at world PvP. This area is rarely populated by players and is more or less a PvE environment with a PvP flag associated with it.

As a means of quickly leveling your character, these quests are a great way to rack up easy experience every day in a matter of minutes. On top of the 20,000 experience you get for each quest you’ll also receive just under 6 gold and 10 Venture Coins (more on those later).

Pre-Game Wintergrasp Strategy

Lake WintergraspThe Alliance players on Greymane-US, where they outnumber the Horde anywhere from 2-to-1 or even 3-to-1, have developed a set of pre-game habits before a Wintergrasp battle begins that I think are worth sharing. I would doubt every server out there could pull these two techniques off because not only do they require some decent cooperation and coordination but it also requires a population of players with intense dedication to not only their mains at level 80 but their alts as well.

With 15 or 20 minutes to go before any Wintergrasp battle, during peak population times, the Alliance will launch attacks on a faction leader. Typically they choose Thrall since he’s in a city with the most Horde players are at any given time. This causes the Horde population, if they fall for the trick, to split up their PvP players between those waiting in Dalaran for Wintergrasp to start and those teleporting to Orgrimmar to fight off the attack on Thrall.

Strand Of The Ancients Strategy

Strand Of The AncientsStrand of the Ancients is by far the most popular battleground now that Wrath has been released. It offers a nice twist on typical PvP gameplay as well as large amounts of honor in relatively small amounts of time.

There are a few tips and tricks that I’ve picked up from fellow players during my time in this battleground that I thought I’d pass along to you. I’ve broken them down into offensive and defensive strategies to make it easier to read.
