Daily Quest Guide: Among The Champions

The new Argent Tournament dailies offer ample opportunity for both gold making and reputation earning. Most of the quests are very run of the mill but a few of them, including Among The Champions, involves new vehicle combat mechanics that might be difficult for some players. I’ve put together this short guide, and video, to help anyone who is struggling with the new jousting gameplay.

My Technique

On that note, the video above will show you how I complete this quest as quickly and simply as possible. I have a simple attack rotation that works like this:

  1. Use Defend (#4) and stack it three times before starting the fight.
  2. Get some distance on your opponent and open with Shield-Breaker (#2) and repeat until the opponent’s shield is gone.
  3. Immediately launch into a Charge (#3) and as soon as it lands hit them with Thrust (#1).
  4. After Thrust (#1) lands, turn away from the opponent and hit Defend (#4) again.
  5. When the cooldown is over, hit Shield-Breaker (#2) once more.
  6. Go back to the third step and repeat.

If you do this in that order, and without making any mistakes, you should be able to beat the Champion opponent and still have around 30% of your own health left in the end.

I still have not made it out there, I need to do that some time this week. Looks like fun, and thanks for the tips.

30%???? I can usually do all 7 matches without losing any health.

Start directly behind your opponent, get 3 shields. When opponent runs away to stand at a distance from you, charge him and then thrust. When you charge, you usually end up running past him, use the Jump and turn technique to turn around in same spot and then quickly throw a shield breaker, charge, and thrust. Your opponent takes time to turn around too… use this to constantly stay behind him.
