Fishing Inside Wintergrasp

Fishing Inside WintergraspI’ve marked on this map of Wintergrasp my favorite fishing locations not only in the zone, but in the entire game right now. The red area on the map represents the best location to fish for the Horde while the blue area represents the best spot for the Alliance. I’ve chosen these spots in particular because they’re both easy to access and offer limited opportunity to run into a PvP fight in the middle of your fishing.

I like these locations so much because, while there aren’t any fish specific pools here, the random fish you manage to catch are great for Cooking and, ultimately for me, selling on the Auction House.

With a little time and dedication you can fish up stacks and stacks of Glacial Salmon, Musselback Sculpin and Giant Darkwater Clams (that have a tendency to drop Northsea Pearls and Siren’s Tears). All of those items go for a decent amount of money on the Auction House on my server. The Glacial Salmon go for about 40 gold a stack and the Siren’s Tear sells for about 65 gold each.

I’m a big Wintergrasp enthusiast so my new game plan is to arrive about thirty minutes early for the next battle and spend that time fishing. If you’re looking to either kill some time pre-battle or make some simple money than I suggest you give these spots a try yourself.

funnily enough my first ever proper wintergrasp was due to me fishing during a battle for the fishing daily. I ended up just joining in…and we won!

Every token I have for Wintergrasp has been earned by running in and fishing during the battle. I group with with my roommate and any other fishing people and we just stand there and enjoy our free tokens/achievements.

Now when we see the Wintergrasp battle about to start, we say, “up for some fishing?”

It’s hilariously fun and nerve-wracking. At the same time we laugh at people yelling “STOP BUILDING CATAPULTS!!!1!!”
