Gold From The Burning Crusade

Most players have given up and moved on from the older content since the release of Wrath of the Lich King. What those players probably don’t realize is that the Burning Crusade still has some opportunities for anyone looking to make some gold. Outland has several items that I’ll go over in this week’s newsletter that are easy to obtain and sell well.

Primal Air

It turns out that Primal Air is still in demand on my server. At the moment, one Primal Air can sell for anywhere between 25 and 30 gold each. The easiest way to get the ten Motes of Air you need to make one Primal is to visit the area just above the Throne of the Elements in Nagrand. You’ll need a flying mount to reach this spot but once you arrive you will come upon plenty of Storming Wind-Rippers that will drop Motes with semi-regularity. If you’re level 80 you’ll find yourself killing them faster than they can spawn but there are other elementals in the area to keep you busy while you wait.

Primal Airs are still in demand because they are a reagant for over 60 profession items, many of which are used in the process of profession leveling. When someone is power-leveling a profession the odds of them being willing to go out and farm an item like Primal Air is very low so the demand for them on the Auction House naturally rises.

Sanguine Hibiscus

My personal favorite item in the Burning Crusade is without a doubt the Sanguine Hibiscus found in the Underbog instance. A well-geared level 80 player can enter the Underbog, gather up all of the Hibiscus they can find, and then leave the instance to reset it and go back in for another round in less than 10 minutes if they know a basic tip.

If you clear the instance from the entrance up to the bridge to the Naga portion of the zone and then turn around and leave you can get dozens of Hibiscus each trip. Going farther than that bridge will waste too much time as much of the remaining part of the instance has few Hibiscus spawning points.

On my server, the Hibiscus typically sell for around 5 gold a piece. They are used as an easy way to level up reputation with the Sporeggar, a requirement for some achievements in the game, so demand is usually pretty good.

Keep Visiting Old World Content

Aside from the two I mentioned today, there are plenty of other farmable items in both the Burning Crusade and Classic game that you should look into gathering and selling. People will always have alts and be learning new professions so the demand for profession materials will always exist.
