Quick Impressions Of Patch 3.2
I managed to get the patch yesterday on my Mac with little difficulty so I was able to jump right in as soon as Greymane was up and check things out. Here are my impressions of Patch 3.2 after a few hours of play.
The Emalon Wipe Fest Continues
I went on at least a six week hiatus from any attempts at running the Vault of Archavon because every time I joined a PUG to give it a shot the opening attempt at taking down Emalon was ugly. Actually, in the interest of honesty, calling it ugly doesn’t do it justice. It was like a brutal crime scene after each attempt with the bodies of his victims strewn all over the place.
I had hoped, all those weeks ago, that taking a break from the instance would allow other people on the server to gear up a bit and increase the likelihood for success. This Friday afternoon I decided it was time to try the Vault again and joined a PUG looking for a few more people to handle the DPS.
Death Knight Professions: Jewelcrafting, Blacksmithing & Engineering

Speed Run: Hellfire Ramparts Part Two
It had been such a long time since my first Speed Run attempt through Hellfire Ramparts that I thought I’d take another crack at it today. My last run was in January and, needless to say, my gear has seen considerable improvement since then. I had high hopes that I could finish the entire Hellfire Ramparts instance in under 20 minutes but, as the image above shows, I ran just a bit too long.
I’ve put together a short list of “rules” that I follow when I make my own Speed Runs if you’re curious. For the record, I skin everything as I go. I’m curious what my time would be if I didn’t do that. I bet it would fall in the 18-19 minute range.

My Death Knight Is Level 80
My Death Knight, Embry, is officially Level 80. When I decided to ease up on my gold rush it seemed like the perfect time to re-visit this neglected character and see what it was like to seriously play the class.
If I learned anything on my journey to my third Level 80 character it was this: I’m awful with melee classes. I’m pretty sure that even through 20+ levels of quests that I still have no idea what I’m doing with my Death Knight. I rolled with my own Blood build and rotation the entire way but last night I did some research and figured out what the general consensus on the “right” way to play a Death Knight really is. You can check him out on the Armory to see if I’m doing it right or not. Any help in the comments of this post would be greatly appreciated.
When Does This Tournament End?
I don’t know about all of you but I am officially, as of today, sick and tired of the Argent Tournament. At this point I’ve Championed the major cities on two of my characters and just started the whole process over again on my Level 79 Death Knight. I’m ready for the Valiant quests now but I just can’t go on. What originally was an effort for some cheap experience points to hit Level 80 has turned into a mental burden.
My Hunter has 300 Champion’s Seals and my Priest has 100 of his own. What in the world am I going to do with all of those? I don’t like any of the mounts and I don’t need any of the gear so we’re down to vanity pets (of which I have more than enough) and tabards and banners. I say “No thanks” to those two items as well.
