Pet Food In Wrath Needs Buffed

There’s a recipe in Wrath called Spiced Mammoth Treats that gives your pet a 30 point boost to Stamina and Strength for the period of one hour. That sounds pretty great but the materials for these are pretty steep. Each Treat takes one Chunk o’ Mammoth and one Northern Spice. On my server that translates into a cost of about 7 gold per Treat.

That’s pretty pricey for some pet food. Fortunately, there’s an alternative from the Burning Crusade you should go back and check out. The pet food is called Kibler’s Bits and it offers the same buff as the Mammoth Treat but it only costs one piece of Buzzard Meat to make. That might run you less than one gold per Bit on Greymane right now.

I can only assume that the Mammoth Treat will be buffed in a future patch. It makes no sense to waste your time making them when there’s a perfectly fine and much, much cheaper alternative left from the Burning Crusade.

Wow. I’m glad you caught that they’re basically the same. Now I know which one to get!

Also, how do you get the wowhead information to popup like that? I can’t figure it out. D:

I am just dissapointed that it is exactly the same as the TBC buff food, really what was the point in adding it?
Yeh mammoth meat might be more attaintable where we are going than buzzard meat, but the fact that it gives the same buff is just a bit…meh.

I wanted something new, BUFF my pet dammit, don’t give me another method of doing something I can already do.

Can you get cooking skill ups for making the Wrath treats?

I’m sure you can but I’d rather save the Northern Spice for something better (or to sell on the Auction House) than waste it making these.

If you noticed they nurfed the BC version of this buff so that the wotlk version would be better. GJ blizzard you put no effort into this game at all. Honestly nurfing a lower lvl version so the higher is better… wtf? At least give the higher version a flask like effect so that every time our pet dissapears it does not loss the buff.
Im never going to use this pet buff now its really not worth it anymore. And this stealth nurf has officaly made hunters the most expencive class to play, if that has not already been made clear with the other !@#$ blizzard refuses to fix the the high co$ts of the hunter class. Hunter, the only class to spend 100′s of gold a raid night on ammo dps, and pay for inflated repair costs, and hunter buffs and now pet buffs.

If you say just buy the vendor ammo… the eng ammo is the only way to go if you want to make it in the top ten of the dps meters on boss kills. And no you cannot compare this to rogue poisons, they cost meer silvers and only need to be applied every now and again. If casters suddenly had to buy some magical essences in order to cast spells they would be up in arms. same goes if melee classes had to buy blood or something in order to dps.
